Monsoon Next Targets: Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh

JUNE 13, 2017, TUESDAY 

After a low key entry into Mumbai, monsoon is busy establishing its hold over the entire state of Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh. This process will go on for the next 2-3 days. So expect good rains in these states.

After that? The next revival will occur on the Bay of Bengal stream on June 16. Monsoon has covered the entire north east and north Bengal. By Saturday a rain system will start pushing monsoon into more parts of Andhra, Odisha, West Bengal. The rains will also enter Bihar, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh.

Pre-monsoon activity is going to increase in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and parts of eastern Rajasthan.

While all this goes on around June 20 in central and eastern India, rains will dry up on the west coast of India, even in areas where monsoons have already entered. So Gujarat, and Rajasthan will remain dry and thirsty.

After the present push into Goa, Konkan and Mumbai the Arabian Sea will slide back into inactivity.

Heavy rainfall is likely today in Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and NE states as monsoon settles in these areas.
